A Sioux Indian Prayer.

O , Great Spirit
Whose voice I hear in the winds,
And whose breath gives life to all the
World,Hear me, I am small and weak,
I need your strength and wisdom.

Let me walk in Beauty, and make my
Eyes ever behold the red and purple
Sunset.

Make my hands respect the things I
Have made and my ears be sharp to
hear your voice.

Make me wise that I may understand the
things you have taught my people.

Let me learn the lessons you have hidden
in every leaf and rock.

I seek strength, not to be greater then my
Brother or sister, but fight my greatest
Enemy--- Myself.

Make me always ready to come to you with
clean hands and straight eyes.

So when life fades, as the fading sunset, my
spirit may come to you without shame.

Amen.

Prayer to Live With Grace

May we discover through pain and torment,
the strength to live with grace and humor.
May we discover through doubt and anguish,
the strength to live with dignity and holiness.
May we discover through suffering and fear,
the strength to move toward healing.
May it come to pass that we be restored to health and to vigor.
May Life grant us wellness of body, spirit, and mind.
And if this cannot be so, may we find in this transformation and passage
moments of meaning, opportunities for love
and the deep and gracious calm that comes
when we allow ourselves to move on.

Do you know how to pray?

The Jesus I never knew"In ainm an Athar, agus a Mhic, agus an Spioraid Naomh."[Irish] ("In the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.")

Dear Lord Jesus,

Thank you for dying on the cross and shedding your precious blood for my sins. I am sorry for all my sins. I ask you to come into my heart, forgive all my sins, and be my Lord and my Saviour. Father, I thank you now for forgiving all my sins and giving me eternal life in Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit.

In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

Admit you are a sinner (have disobeyed God). Sin separates man from God. Imperfect man cannot come into the presence of a perfect God.
"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." -1 John 1:8

(2). Repent (be sorry for and turn from your sins, to a new life in Christ).

"Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out." -Acts 3:19

(3). Salvation is available only through Jesus Christ.

"Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man comes unto the Father, but by me." -John 14:6

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." -1 Timothy 2:5

"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." -Acts 4:12

(4). Accept the free gift of eternal life through Christ. You cannot earn salvation by your own efforts.

"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." -Romans 6:23

"For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast." -Ephesians 2:8,9

"That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." -Romans 10: 9,10

(5). Do it now.

"...behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation." -II Corinthians 6:2

(Jesus said) "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." -Revelation 3:20

Which Church do you belong?

The Presence of God

I remind myself that, as I sit here now,
God is gazing on me with love and holding me in being.
I pause for a moment and think of this.

Freedom

I ask for the grace
to let go of my own concerns
and be open to what God is asking of me,
to let myself be guided and formed by my loving Creator.

Consciousness

Help me Lord to be more conscious of your presence.
Teach me to recognise your presence in others.
Fill my heart with gratitude for the times Your love
has been shown to me through the care of others.

The Word

In this expectant state of mind, please turn to the text for the day with confidence.
Believe that the Holy Spirit is present
and may reveal whatever the passage has to say to you.
Read reflectively, listening with a third ear to what may be going on in your heart.

Darby's Modern Translation

EPH 4:1  I therefore, the prisoner in the Lord, beseech you to walk worthily of the calling wherewith ye were called,
EPH 4:2  with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
EPH 4:3  giving diligence to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
EPH 4:4  [There is] one body, and one Spirit, even as also ye were called in one hope of your calling;
EPH 4:5  one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
EPH 4:6  one God and Father of all, who is over all, and through all, and in all.

pray with me!

May the Lord open up
the windows of heaven
and pour you a blessing
that you will not have room
enough to receive it all.

May the Lord bless
you exceedingly and abundantly,
above all you could ever hope for.

May the Lord bless you
that you may walk in a
financial overflow.

May you fall in love with him
for the rest of your days
in the Name of Jesus.
Amen!

Prayer for child abuse

 stop child abuse

My name is Sarah

I am but three,

My eyes are swollen

I cannot see,

I must be stupid,

I must be bad,

What else could have made

My daddy so mad?

I wish I were better,

I wish I weren't ugly,

Then maybe my Mommy

Would still want to hug me.

I can't speak at all,

I can't do a wrong

Or else I'm locked up

All the day long.

When I awake I'm all alone

The house is dark

My folks aren't home.

When my Mommy does come

I'll try and be nice,

So maybe I'll get just

One whipping tonight.

Don't make a sound!

I just heard a car

My daddy is back

From Charlie's Bar.

I hear him curse

My name he calls

I press myself

Against the wall.

I try and hide

From his evil eyes

I'm so afraid now

I'm starting to cry.

He finds me weeping

He shouts ugly words,

He says its my fault

That he suffers at work.

He slaps me and hits me

And yells at me more,

I finally get free

And I run for the door.

He's already locked it

And I start to bawl,

He takes me and throws me

Against the hard wall.

I fall to the floor

With my bones nearly broken,

And my daddy continues

With more bad words spoken.

"I'm sorry!" I scream

But its now much too late

His face has been twisted

Into unimaginable hate.

The hurt and the pain

Again and again

Oh please God, have mercy!

Oh please let it end!

And he finally stops

And heads for the door,

While I lay there motionless

Sprawled on the floor.

My name is Sarah

And I am but three,

Tonight my daddy

Murdered me.

There are thousands of kids out there just like Sarah. And you can help.

It sickens me to my soul, and if you just read this and don't pass it on I pray for your forgiveness, because you would have to be one heartless person to not be affected by this email. And because you are affected, do something about it!! So all I am asking you to do is take some time to send this on and acknowledge that this stuff does happen, and that people like her dad do live in our society, and pray for child abuse to wither out and die, but also pray for the safety of our youth.

Please pass this poem on as a Blue Ribbon Against Child Abuse because, as crazy as it might sound, it might just indirectly change a life.

Please forward if you are

Job's Confession

Job's Confession
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I know that you can do all things;
no plan of yours can be thwarted.
You asked,'Who is this that obscures my counsel
without knowledge?'
Surely I spoke of things i did not understand, things too wonderful for me
to know.
You said, 'Listen now, and I will speak;
I will question you, and you shall answer me.'
My ears had heard of you
but now my eyes you.
Therefore I despise myself
and repent in dust and ashes.
A Prayer for Youth
"As Jesus with the disciples of Emmaus so the Church must become today the
traveling companion of young people" (Pope John Paul II). As traveling
companions of the young people in our parish, let us join together in prayer
We offer to you, loving God, the gifts and needs of youth.
Bless them with your guiding grace
As they face the challenges and opportunities in their lives.
Touch their hearts with the gentleness of your love,
That they may know they are valued and valuable beings.
Send your spirit of hope to their lives,
That they may believe in themselves
And know they are needed in this world.
Grace them with the gift of joy
That they may celebrate life through laughter and tears alike.
Guide us, as we continue to grow
In our appreciation of the many gifts of young people,
In the ministry opportunities we offer to them,
In the journey of faith we walk with them,
In our shared mission as a community called to discipleship in the world.
We ask this in Jesus' name.
Amen.
Pray for Peace
Gentle Readers,
Here is another prayer that you will enjoy. Pray for peace!
Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem
jerusalem-old-1911
By DR. ELIAS E. HIDALGO
Dr. Elias E. Hidalgo
Founder-Director
If I forget thee, O Jerusalem,
Let my right hand forget her cunning.
Let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth,
If I remember thee not;
If I set not Jerusalem Above my chiefest joy.
"PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM"
PSALM 122:6
The shortest verse in The Holy Bible is found in The Gospel according to
John, chapter 11, verse 35,
"JESUS WEPT".
In this same chapter we are given insight to the reason that led up to the
recorded truth that "JESUS WEPT". In verse 5 we read that, "Jesus loved
Martha, and her sister (Mary), and Lazarus", later on in verse 21 we are
told that Lazarus had died.
Our LORD Jesus Christ was moved (see verse 33) in seeing Mary and the Jews
weeping, therefore, in His compassion and love, He groaned in His Spirit,
thus the account that "Jesus Wept".
The only other time in recorded Scripture that we find our LORD Jesus Christ
weeping is found in The Gospel according to Luke, chapter 19, verse 41, as
He beheld the City (Jerusalem),
"AND HE WEPT OVER IT".
Imagine, Our LORD 'WEEPING' over a city, that is, the City of Jerusalem.
Approximately 3,000 years ago GOD Himself chose Jerusalem, Israel as the
City to place His Name there. (see: II Chronicles 6:6).
Is it any wonder that we read in Psalm 137: 5-6, "If I forget thee, O
Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee
(Jerusalem), let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not
Jerusalem above my chief joy".
'GOD THE FATHER, SON, HOLY SPIRIT'
GOD The Father CHOSE Jerusalem (II Chronicles 6:6).
GOD The Son CRIED over Jerusalem (Luke 19:41).
GOD The Holy Spirit CONFIRMED His Word in Jerusalem (Acts 1:4 & Acts 2:1-5).
With these few thoughts from Holy Writ, do you 'wonder' why we find in Psalm
122:6,
"PRAY FOR THE PEACE OF JERUSALEM".
In case you would like the pronunciation of these words in Hebrew,
"SHA-ALU SHALOM YIRUSHALAYIM".
The beginning word, 'SHA-ALU' means 'TO ASK', that is, ask The Owner,
Protector and Redeemer of The City of Jerusalem, that He would bring Shalom
(Peace) to the Place, the People, through The Prince of Peace (Our LORD
Jesus Christ) !
WHY SHOULD YOU, WHY SHOULD I ?
Why should you "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem", and what benefit is there
in so doing ?
First of all as we complete the reading of Psalm 122:6, we find that The
LORD has promised, that (you and I) shall "prosper" that love thee
(Jerusalem).
The Hebrew word for 'Prosper' is SHALAV ( to be at rest ) !!!
How marvellous is our recompense as we 'faithfully' remember to "Pray for
the peace of Jerusalem".
WE WILL BE AT REST
Some misguided people actually pray for the peace of Jerusalem, thinking
that they will 'PROSPER' in areas other than being at 'rest', that is,
perhaps, financially, economically, materially, etc., and when they don't,
they STOP praying for the peace of Jerusalem, and sometimes they even are
bitter at The LORD and His Word, to the extent of becoming demeaning towards
Jerusalem, Israel.
BUT NOW YOU KNOW
But now, you 'KNOW' that prosperity is 'TO BE AT REST', and furthermore, to
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem" is in keeping with the command of GOD that
we (you and I) need to 'ASK' The LORD, that He would:
1) Bring Shalom (Peace) to the Place - Jerusalem, Israel.
2) Bring Shalom (Peace) to the People (Jewish) in Jerusalem and throughout
the world. (see: Romans 10:1), "Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to
GOD for Israel (the Jewish people in Jerusalem and world wide) is, that they
might be saved".
3) Bring Shalom (Peace) through The Prince of Peace (The LORD Jesus Christ)
as He comes again. (see: Revelation 22:20).
"EVEN SO, COME, LORD JESUS"
Therefore, as you OBEY The LORD in praying 'for the peace of Jerusalem' you
actually are ASKING The LORD to:
RESTORE - REDEEM - RETURN
Restore The Land of Israel, Redeem the Jewish people, and Return for His own
through the Revelation of our Messiah, The LORD Jesus Christ.
"SHA-ALU SHALOM YIRUSHALAYIM"
For the past over twenty years I have personally been praying for the peace
of Jerusalem, and The LORD has allowed me the opportunity to share this
wonderful truth with many.
The following is a poem I wrote which you will find in my book,
'JERUSALEM OF GOD'
Jerusalem is The city of GOD,
Where His Holy feet have trod,
Someday soon, we will be there,
And as He promised, in His care.
The GOD of Jacob made His choice,
Where His people would hear His voice,
His Beloved Son, Yeshua cried,
Although heartbroken when He sighed.
On the cross in Jerusalem City,
Indeed, He was a sight of pity,
But when, He arose from the dead,
He conquered all, as He said.
He's coming back as a Lion,
To rule and reign from Zion,
As eternity, He ushers in,
In New Jerusalem, Yeshua our King.
Our Prayer for the Sick
O God, in our hearts, we name those who are facing illness and pain. We join our prayers with the prayers of all who love them. Give them renewed comfort and courage. Strengthen in them the healing powers You have placed within us all. Guide the hands and hearts of those who are entrusted with their care. May the knowledge of Your love and ours give added hope to them and to their dear ones. May they find even greater strength because our prayers are linked with theirs.
Ba-ruch a-ta, A-do-nai, ro-fei ha-cho-lim.
We praise You, O Lord, the Source of healing and health.
Prayer for Freedom
Dear Father,
We acknowledge that any of us is capable of harming another.
Your Son taught us that attack against one is attack against all.
Crime against one is crime against all.
And harm done to one is deep harm done to the self.
Sometimes, we harm others because we fear.
Or take revenge for deep injury.
But attacking out of fear or pain will not protect us.
Fear is a warning to alter our course.
And pain is a call to love ourselves better.
We protect ourselves best through following Your guidance
And learning to love.
Therefore, we have no need for attack.
We now decide to trust in Your wisdom and follow Your guidance.
For You know all things, love us and want only our happiness.
We declare we have learned all we can through attack and his sister, revenge.
Rather than attack, we align with You.
In You lies our safety.
Aligned with You, We create a new paradigm on earth and within human consciousness.
We acknowledge that when we find ourselves guilty of anything, we attract punishment to some degree.
We hereby forgive ourselves for anything and everything real or imagined for which we attract punishment.
And release any and all attack thoughts harbored in our minds and souls.
We now learn through joy and love as opposed to pain, suffering and guilt.
Filled with inspiration, we keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.
We receive Your guidance and protection in every moment. We rely on it and Your infallibility.
We bless ourselves.
We bless those who, in fear and ignorance, would attack us.
We affirm You now enter the hearts, minds, souls and bodies of those who would harm us and create a miracle.
To these people we say: BY THE GRACE OF GOD, WE DO NOT ALLOW you to harm us. Your plans are like dust. Your intentions fall away. You grow confused in your actions. And you turn to God, forsaking all need for attack.
Dear God, by Your Grace, I—and we—are lifted out of the attractor field of attack and into the attractor field of forgiveness.
We are safe in Your arms now and always.
Thank You, Amazing and Merciful God, for this peace of mind; innocence and transformation.
And so it is. Amen.
a prayer for understanding
prayer in America
"Lord Jesus, make thyself to me
A living bright Reality
More present to faith's vision keen
Than any earthly object seen;
More dear more intimately nigh
Than e'en the dearest earthly tie"
Father in heaven,
Help me to understand the needs of those who struggle every day to stand against the world's pain
Help me find a way to give hope to those who have turned to drugs or alcohol for survival
Help me teach the children the lessons of life that will shape their future, body, mind and spirit.
Help me feed the poor and elderly too proud to say they have not eaten today.
Help me look inside myself and see that all mankind is one. And grant me the strength to understand that I. . . I can make a difference "that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death," (Philippians 3:10)
